Many people are aware that they have fitting issues going on in their mockups or garments, but they don’t quite know what the problem is, or where to start. This class helps you to get clearer on just that.
In this class, you will learn to “read” what the fabric is “telling” you — by learning what a dragline is, how to distinguish a dragline from a vertical or horizontal fold line, and how to recognize an area of tightness. This is all about training your eye to see, and thus understanding what needs to be done, and in what order. My Signature Fitting Method, which includes using Horizontal Balance Lines, takes a lot of guesswork out of fitting and also gives you a methodology to follow.
Together, we’ll practice training our eyes as I talk you through what the fitting issues are in lots of photo examples of real mockups and even some ready-to-wear garments. You’ll grow in your fitting skill a lot just by practicing seeing and distinguishing the issues at hand this way, and learning the order in which we tackle them.
