Common Sleeve Fitting Issues Instant Access Class
$49.00
Set-in sleeves are what we think of as the “standard” sleeve because they are used so commonly in ready-to-wear. They are an important piece to master when it comes to sewing, but they come with their own particular set of fitting issues. Once you have a well-fitting bodice and armhole, how do you get a sleeve that looks flattering, feels comfortable, provides enough reach, and couples well with your bodice pattern? That’s a lot to ask, and it is attainable! And it’s what this class is all about.
I describe the most common sleeve fitting issues and show you multiple examples of each to help you train your eye to recognize them. I also show you how to address and resolve these fitting issues.
Developing a perfectly fitting one-piece sleeve that goes into the armhole easily is the goal. But in actuality, getting a comfortably fitting sleeve often involves a few minor compromises in the fit. I discuss what these are as well as discussing pattern and sewing considerations. My goal is to empower you to make the best choices for each situation that you encounter.
